Over 60? You have more options than you think.
What are you going to do now that we are living so much longer?
For some the solution is to work longer.
And while being in your 50s might be considered midlife – it’s also midcareer as more people work well into their 70s and 80s.
So, you could keep doing what you are doing right now if the world will let you. And there is nothing wrong with that choice, as long as you can continue to contribute and build a life that inspires others and fuels your spirit.
Or maybe you could try something entirely new.
Over the decades we build skills that are readily transferable to other arenas. The skills you have carefully mastered are more valuable than you can imagine. As I watch the churn in the workplace there days maybe you could be a “hired gun” and take an interim role while an organization searches for the ideal person to fill their vacancy. The idea of working with a “FRACTIONAL” professional is especially popular with small, start up organizations who aren’t ready to hire a full-time seasoned individual. And what a joy to help someone else become all the can be.
Maybe you are finally ready to start something on your own. The number of new entrepreneurs starting ventures after the age of 55 has virtually doubled over the past 20 years or so. And these “older” ENTREPRENEURS are statistically twice as likely to succeed vs those in their 20s or 30s. Maybe that idea that’s been rolling around in your head deserves to come alive. You’ve got what it takes, you just need a bit of courage and a good coach to cheer you on.
PORTFOLIO CAREERS, like mine, prove that you can have multiple sources of income. Variety is the spice of life and many of us have taken a real liking to a well seasoned career later in life. I personally have never enjoyed work as much as I do today as a portfolio career professional.
So, whether you keep doing what you are doing, you choose to take your experience and become a “fractional” profession, you decide that it’s time for you to live that dream that you’ve been carrying with you, or if you can imagine yourself offering a portfolio of serves, we are here to help you get there.
